On September 12, 2023, our Lodge donated the proceeds from the
annual Elks Par 3 Golf Tournament — 11 teams this year — to the
Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. This year’s check was in the amount
of $9,761.00, an impressive increase of $1,761.00 over the 2022
donation. Smoky Mountain Children’s Home is a faith based non-profit
organization that does a lot of great things for less privileged kids, and
they’re always glad when they receive their annual visit from a herd of
giving Elks. Thanks to Tournament organizers David and Becky Hadden
and to all who helped with and participated in this annual effort to serve
less fortunate kids in our community (including Best, which provided
lunch to a horde of hungry golfers).
